The winners of the 2026 iF Design Award Germany have been announced. This year, over 10,000 entries from 68 countries/regions competed. After rigorous evaluation by 129 international experts, only 75 gold award-winning works received the highest honor, the Gold Award. The iF Design Award jury evaluates all submitted entries using five updated criteria developed in collaboration with an international design expert team: Concept, Appearance, Functionality, Differentiation, and Impact. Based on these criteria, jurors score each entry and provide detailed feedback to every participant.

Seoul Viosys recently announced that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Feit Electric, the largest home lighting company in the United States, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. In the complaint, Seoul Viosys, a subsidiary of Seoul Semiconductor, stated that "Fight produces and sells six types of light-emitting diode (LED) lighting products, including omnidirectional filament technology jointly developed by Seoul Semiconductor and Seoul Viosys, which infringes on patented technology." Asahi Kasei Corporation's Crystal IS recently announced that, meeting current UVC LED requirements, it has successfully mass-produced single-crystal aluminum nitride (AlN) substrates with a diameter of 100 mm and an available area of 99%, and will manufacture them in the United States.
