Signify's Interact Office supports enterprise return-to-work and employee health and safety
As government agencies and businesses around the world gradually resume operations, maintaining employee health and safety has become a top priority. Maintaining appropriate physical distance can protect employees. Global lighting leader Signify (Euronext Amsterdam ticker: LIGHT) has recently optimized its Interact Office software applications (space management and workplace apps) to help employees maintain proper distance in the office, ensuring health and safety. Using Interact software applications based on smart connected lighting infrastructure, building managers can make critical decisions using real-time data rather than estimates.

Signify's Interact Office workplace app uses smart connected lighting infrastructure to provide indoor navigation for enterprises, guiding employees to vacant office areas within the building and helping them reserve desks in low-occupancy zones, thereby ensuring full implementation of physical distancing measures.
The space management application provides data insights to help building managers make optimal decisions regarding space allocation. The application effectively monitors real-time space occupancy data, identifying areas of personnel congregation within the building and setting occupancy limits required for COVID-19 prevention and control. Data collected by the Interact smart connected lighting system can also highlight high-traffic areas, allowing for increased cleaning frequency accordingly.
Signify is committed to safeguarding the health, safety, and well-being of its employees. The company recently launched IoT sensors with environmental monitoring capabilities to track temperature, air quality, noise levels, illuminance, and relative humidity. A typical application involves Signify helping enterprises monitor office environments to optimize working conditions for employees.
"We are more convinced than ever that technology can help companies optimize their work environments during the return-to-work process. The Interact system can simplify the transition and keep everyone safe and healthy during this period," said Ronnie Koster, Global Head of Office and Industry at Signify.
Interact Indoor Navigation
Interact Indoor Navigation uses the lighting system to provide precise real-time indoor geographic locations for applications on mobile devices. The software can utilize technologies such as Visible Light Communication (VLC) built into luminaires, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and smartphone sensors to provide positioning and navigation services with an accuracy of up to 30 centimeters (1 foot).

Through the integration of indoor navigation information terminals or the Interact Office workspace app with meeting room booking systems and employee roster management systems, employees can easily book meeting rooms, find available desks, or locate colleagues. Building managers can use anonymized data to understand foot traffic patterns and behavior within the building, further optimizing and improving service levels and building operational efficiency.
