Lighting as Art: Appreciation of the Lighting Design at the National Museum in Warsaw

The National Museum in Warsaw uses Philips (lighting business: Signify) LED lamps. Its dimmable Zumtobel series provides warm white light, while more efficient LED chips offer more energy-saving lighting. The long lifespan of LEDs reduces replacement and maintenance costs, allowing the museum to cut expenses in these areas.
The newly upgraded LED spotlights can adjust brightness and lighting effects. The 20W and 25W luminaires used in this project replace 100W halogen lamps, significantly reducing heat. Less infrared and ultraviolet radiation also reduces damage to artworks in the museum, helping to protect the exhibits.

Unlike museums in other regions, the National Museum in Warsaw hardly uses natural lighting. The use of LEDs with sensors ensures that lighting is only turned on when visitors arrive, remaining dark at other times. This saves energy and further reduces the impact on exhibits.
